Metacamper's story began in 2023, when Federico Pons founded a center dedicated toRV and caravan service, created to offer comprehensive maintenance, repair, and accessory installation, with a professional and attentive approach to each traveler's needs.
A modern and specialized workshop that combines experience and innovation, today recognized as an authorized Laika, Hymer, Bürstner, Eriba, Etrusco, Carado and Rimor workshop, as well as a point of reference forqualified camper service in Tuscany.
It is part of a network of RV workshops that represent excellence on the national scene, guaranteeing certified technical services and the use of original spare parts.
The roots of this reality go back to the family's long experience. In the late 1960s, in fact, Bruno and Daniela Pons sensed the potential of RV vacations and outdoor living. With their first caravan parked on a plot of land in Genoa, they aroused the interest of many, and in 1969 they founded the Pons dealership, among the first in Italy to offer recreational vehicles and service for new enthusiasts in the sector.
Over the years, the Pons dealership has established itself as a point of reference for reliability and competence, strengthening its reputation as a camper service and sales center for major Italian and European brands. Since 1996 it has been a Laika dealer, joined over the years by Etrusco, Hymer, Roller Team, and Carado, thus expanding its offer and guaranteeing a complete range that includes camper accessories and original spare parts, always selected for quality and safety.
Constant growth has led, in 2019, to the opening of a second location in Barberino Tavarnelle, in the heart of the Florentine Camper Valley: a strategic position that has allowed us to strengthen our market presence and offer an even more widespread service. Here, in addition to maintaining the concession of the historical brands, in 2024 Rimor, another important name of made in Italy, was also added, consolidating the link between production and after-sales services, the flagship of the company.
Today, all the main activities are concentrated in the Tavarnelle Barberino headquarters: new and used motorhome sales, accessories market, rental services and financing, in a modern environment organized to meet the different needs of motorhome owners.
Thanks to this long family background, Federico Pons has gained a deep knowledge of the industry, experiencing firsthand all the transformations of the RV market.
His hands-on experience, combined with a clear vision and strong entrepreneurial skills, led him to found Metacamper in 2023: a reality that gathers all the technical heritage of the Pons tradition and projects it into the future of RV servicing.
With eight workstations and a hydraulic bridge, the center offers RV repairs, bodywork restoration, electrical, plumbing and gas system maintenance, as well as the installation of original spare parts and accessories such as awnings, bike racks, air conditioners, lithium batteries and solar panels.
Today Metacamper is the workshop of reference for those seeking RV maintenance in Florence and the surrounding area: a center that combines the solidity of experience with modern equipment, with specialized assistance on the most important brands and a qualified and safe service for every camper.
